Privacy policy
Short version: our calculators run entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, collect, store, or sell your personal financial inputs. We do not currently run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on this site. The rest of this page covers what little we receive to operate the site, what would change if we add analytics or ads later, and your rights under Canadian privacy law.
What runs where
Every calculator on this site is implemented as a static page with a small amount of client-side JavaScript. When you enter your salary, contribution amount, or any other financial input, that value never leaves your device. There is no server-side calculation, no API request that includes your numbers, and no analytics event that contains them.
What we collect today
As of the date below, this site runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts at all. We do not load Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Analytics, a Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site identifier, and the pages serve no third-party scripts. Concretely, today:
- We do not run a web-analytics product, so we do not build per-visitor or aggregate usage profiles ourselves.
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
- Like any website, our hosting/CDN provider processes the standard request logs needed to serve and security-monitor the site (for example IP address and user agent in transit); we do not combine these into a marketing or cross-site profile.
If we later add privacy-respecting analytics, advertising, or a cookie, we will disclose it here (and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent) before or at the time it is enabled. This page is the canonical record of what is actually running.
If we add a contact form later, the only personal information we will collect is the email address and message contents you provide, and we'll use them only to reply to your inquiry. Until that form ships, use the email addresses on the contact page.
Embed widgets
Once our embed program launches, third-party sites that embed our calculators will be loading our JavaScript on their pages. That JavaScript follows the same rule: calculations run client-side, no financial inputs are sent to our servers. Embedding sites are responsible for their own privacy disclosures regarding how the embedded widget appears on their pages.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and provincial privacy legislation, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Because we hold almost nothing about you (your calculator inputs never reach us, and we run no analytics today), most requests will be a quick "we have nothing to give you, nothing to delete". Email privacy@fiscalmoose.com if you want us to confirm in writing.
Cookies
We do not currently set advertising or tracking cookies from the calculators. We may set a cookie later (for example a single preference cookie for a saved-jurisdiction setting, or cookies introduced by an analytics or advertising provider if we add one). If that happens, this page will be updated and the cookie will be documented here in plain English, with consent collected where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy will be announced on the home page for at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date below is the canonical version marker.
